Butterflies

Several years back, in 2002 to be exact, I happened upon the girls singing to their stuffed animals on our front porch...It was summertime in the mountains of North Carolina and quite dry except near McClure Creek, a stream that hurried down the mountain in front of our cottage. Monarch butterflies were swarming to the moisture in and around the creek banks creating a beautiful contrast of motion against the hemlocks, ferns, and azaleas growing to the edge of the creek. As I approached the porch where Elizabeth and Laura were entertaining their "friends", I heard, "God is gracious, God is good, Butterflies fly all over His World"...When I inquired, they excitedly told me they were making up the song for their stuffed animals... I joined in and we found some more words and a melody, then later recorded it for safekeeping...
This song is a "snapshot" of a happy world thru the eyes of little gals (and their dad) with a prayer that little ones everywhere would have a chance to be safe, happy, and loved.
